This is my 14th year teaching at Linn-Mar, though I have been teaching science for over 20 years. Currently, I teach Biology and Bioethics, but I have also taught Environmental Science and Earth Science. I earned my undergrad degrees from Lakehead University and Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada and a Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) from Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana. My learning is lifelong as I continue to learn from my students, my children, and graduate classes.
Before coming to Iowa, my teaching experience was primarily with Indigenous people in various locations in the Canada, US and abroad. Though from the states originally, I have lived and traveled extensively in many parts of world. I love to be active outdoors and to travel, and have great interest in meeting new people and learning about other cultures.
I look forward to the working with students at Linn-Mar, facilitating learning opportunities in science, and encouraging the development of skills and knowledge that extend beyond the classroom.
